69th Dereham Theatre Company Annual General Meeting - 2017
Thank you to all those who attended our A.G.M. on Monday April 24th, when we looked back at a very successful year and revealed what was in store for the future.
This was an evening tinged with sadness as we recently lost our President, Geoffrey Dann, who passed away in March. Sue DuPont paid tribute to him on the night and all observed a minutes silence.
Whilst we lost Kevin Jude after many years service on the Committee, for which we thank him, Sophie Blanks will take his place as Vice Chair. We also welcomed on to the Committee Sharon Davidson, Sue Cashfield and Pennie Jones.
Our new President, Jill Everett, was given a rousing round of applause on her appointment and she paid tribute to Geoffrey on accepting the position.
The NODA East Conference on Sunday April 8th 2017, held in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, saw Dereham Theatre Company nominated for three awards: Best Technical Production for Rock of Ages; Best Pantomime for Dick Whittington; and Best Youth Production for Grease. We're delighted to have come away with the Certificate for Best Pantomime - congratulations to the cast, crew, production team and everyone involved.
We are pleased to announce two more upcoming shows.
Our 2017/18 Pantomime will be the classic Beauty and the Beast, directed by our Secretary, Paul Allum.
Paul Woodhouse, who helmed the critically acclaimed Blackadder Goes Forth, returns to direct our 2018 Spring play, A Passionate Woman, by the noted dramatist, Kay Mellor.
Details on the shows and production can be found in the relevant production pages
We always love to hear from our members with ideas for future productions, but unfortunately many suggestions have to be thrown out immediately simply because the licence isn't available for amateur groups. Before making a suggestion, please take some time to find out if the show is actually available by contacting the appropriate rightsholder. To help you out, here is a list of some common rightsholders:
